We love watersports and want everyone to experience days out on the water. One of the things that we try to do is feature others that are also passionate about the sport and spreading the love. This week we want to feature an amazing organization that helps children spend a day on the lake that would normally never have the opportunity to experience watersports.
Wake the World or WTW is this non-profit that helps spread the joy that watersports provides. WTW started in 2008 with 8 families providing a day on the lake for some residents of a local children's home. WTW has grown into the largest all-volunteer organization of its kind, there are currently over 500 volunteered boats worldwide that support this cause. Their main focus is on supporting groups of underprivileged children from foster homes and people with disabilities.
If you would be interested in volunteering with your boat you can visit their website and sign up to volunteer. Your boat must be a wakeboard/ski boat (no I/O's or outboard motors) or a modern jet boat. Every boat driver must provide a NASBLA approved boater's safety certificate. You can visit their website here to find out more or to donate.
