Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour 2019

The 2018 Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour featured the best riders in the world including the likes of Harley Clifford, Noah Flegel, Cory Teunissen, Guenther Oka, Nic Rapa, Mike Dowdy and many others.  If you are a fan of wakeboarding it is a sight to see these guys in action.  The 2019 schedule was just released by Supra and the press release below has the details of what to expect this year.

The Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour (PWT), the industry’s longest-running professional wakeboarding competition circuit, will visit three new water sports venues in 2019 as well as returning to another venue, after a one-year hiatus to comprise a four-event schedule.

The 27th year of the Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour will open in May and run through August, with the world’s top-16 professional wakeboarders competing for the ultimate championship.

The 2019 season will open for the Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour with a debut event at August Lakes in Katy, Texas, (near Houston) May 17-18. The PWT then returns to the Mantua Reservoir in Utah (near Salt Lake City) June 22, following a solid debut at the venue in 2017.

The third round of the season takes the PWT to Ford Lake Park for the first time in Ypsilanti, Mich., (near Detroit) July 13. It then concludes with the series’ first visit to Broadside Harbor Lakes in Boise, Idaho on August 3.

May 17-18: Katy, Texas — August Lakes is a beautiful, 100-plus-acre, residential watersports community in Katy, Texas, providing an attractive setting for wakeboarding, surfing, paddle boarding, fishing and tubing. Many spectators will have the chance to watch the PWT from the comfort of their own backyard.

June 22: Mantua, Utah  Sitting at an elevation of more than 5,000-feet, the Mantua Reservoir rests on 500 acres at the edge of the picturesque town of Mantua. The Mantua Reservoir received rave reviews from competitors and fans in 2017 in the series debut at the venue.

July 13: Ypsilanti, Mich.  — Ford Lake was formed in 1932 when Henry Ford completed a dam over the Huron River to supply hydroelectric power to one of his plants. The spacious lake covers 958 acres and is surrounded by the six-park Ford Lake Park System, which will provide fans of the Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour a multitude of great viewing spots.

August 3: Boise, Idaho  The 2019 Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour champion will be crowned in the season finale at Broadside Harbor Lakes in Boise. Broadside Harbor Lakes is a scenic, man-made set of lakes, well-known for having velvety smooth and calm water conditions.

New call-to-action

“We had another great season last year, and we look forward to carrying that momentum and excitement into the 2019 edition of the Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour,” said Rick Tinker, president of Supra Boats. “We have three new venues on the tour this year and we can't wait to bring the excitement of wake sports to these markets. Each stop provides a top-of-the-line venue for the competitors, along with great amenities and sightlines for our loyal fans.”

As in seasons past, the eight highest-ranked competitors from 2018 pre-qualify for the 2019 tour, leaving eight spots reserved for the best performances at the qualifying event on May 17. Pre-qualified riders include: Cory Teunissen (2018 overall winner), Supra Team rider Nic Rapa, Harley Clifford, Tony Iaconni, Jake Pelot, Tyler Higham, Cobe France and Mike Dowdy.

In addition to Wakeboarding, the Supra Boats Pro Wakesurf Tour brings one of the hottest up-and-coming sports in North America to each venue: Wakesurfing, which is riding the boat’s wake without the help of a tow rope. Supra Team riders Sean Silveira and Parker Payne, as well as Jake Caster pre-qualify for the 2019 Wakesurf Tour.

The Supra Boats SA550 will serve as the official tow boat for the tour again in 2019. Purpose-built to create clean, consistent and controlled wakes, it is designed to push athletes to new levels while preserving strict handling and a balanced ride for those onboard.
